Begin at the End Tuesday, May 26 8:30am-9:30am
In 2003, the California Fuel Cell Partnership's "Road Rally" ended at the County Administration Building. Then, automakers had placed about 50 vehicles on California' roads. Now, nearly 300 FCVs have seen California's streets, and automakers are taking the first steps to commercialization.
Join County Supervisor Ron Roberts to see the progress of fuel cell vehicles and hear about the next steps. Talk to the engineers who work on the vehicles and learn about what's happening with hydrogen stations in Southern California.
The County Administration Building opened in December, 1938. It was a WPA that employed 300 people during the Depression. The building was a prototype of American civic center architecture and, at 10 stories tall, received the label of "first skyscraper." This historic building is a great reminder of how quickly things change!
